The Sun: Salah was subjected to "racist" cheers from West Ham fans









The Sun newspaper published a video of a West Ham United fan of racist words against Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool came to West Ham United on Monday in the 25th round of the English Premier League with a 1-1 draw.

According to a video clip attributed to the Sun newspaper, during Salah's kick for a corner kick, West Ham United fans shouted racist slogans against Mu because he was a Muslim.

"At West Ham United, we have a policy of punishment for any form of violent or abusive behavior," the Sun quoted West Ham United as saying.

"We are a football club, regardless of race, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender change or disability, we welcome everyone in our court."

"Anyone who makes a mistake will be handed over to the police and face a life ban from the London court. There is no place for this kind of behavior at home."

Some reports indicated that an investigation would be opened, with legal action being taken against the offender.

Salah was not the first player to be cheered on England's pitch. Manchester City's Rahim Strangel was subjected to racist cheers during his side's game against Chelsea. Legal action was also taken against Tottenham Hotspur fan, who threw "banana peel" on Gabonese player Pierre-Amerek Obamyang Arsenal's star in the UAE has been banned from attending matches for life.
